There are a few places all over in Texas at Christmas, from Hill Country to the city of the Alamo and everywhere in between, decked out with holiday sparkle. Here are the top 10 places we’ve researched for you.

 

1. Fredericksburg

In Texas at Christmas Hill Country town of Fredericksburg. Here Christmas is celebrated in a style befitting German heritage. Several communities hold Christmas events in the city each year. The first is the ceremony of burning the German Christmas Pyramid and Christmas tree in the Vereins Kirche on Marktplatz. It’s in live music here. 2. Galvestoncity in Germany

Throughout the season, Galveston Island revives Christmas with a variety of attractions, including the festival of lights in Moody Gardens, downtown lanterns, lights, and Santa Hustle, a half marathon. The town also hosts the annual” Dickens On the Strand ” festival, which dates back to 1974.

3. New Braunfels

Visitors to New Braunfels during the holiday season can experience the Christmas Sunday, the cowboy Kringle in historic Gruene and the light shows that shimmered at Santa’s farm. New Braunfels also hosts the Christmas Parade.

4. Great Meadow

There are plenty of options to celebrate Christmas, including the Grand Prairie holiday tree lighting, a Christmas candlelit memorial service and the Traders Village Holiday Sunday. These are just some of the attractions on offer. The biggest attraction, however, is the city’s spectacular light show. Visitors can drive for two miles surrounded by thousands of Christmas lights. The exhibition also includes a resort with an indoor laser display and a hiking trail that runs through the forest.

5. Jefferson

In Texas at Christmas in the bayou is what Jefferson residents call holiday events. Traditions include the Christmas light train at weekends and the walk through downtown wassail is a local decency. In addition, there is a Christmas Parade and a candlelit tour of the house.

6. Marshall

The wonderland of lights Extravaganza is the highlight of Christmas celebrations. The event continues until New Year’s Eve. The celebration features thousands of white lights that turn downtown into a wonderland. Among many other events, visitors are offered a Jingle Bell Run, a lighted Christmas Parade, a march to Bethlehem and a community Christmas Carol.

7. Austin

Although he is known for his live music, Austin is also great to spend Christmas with. The annual Light Trail passes through Zilker Park and sings throughout the holiday and travels downtown on Congress Street. Completing the Christmas shopping at the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar, which takes place at the Palmer Event Center, is very enjoyable.

8. San Antonio

The city of Alamo is lit up for Christmas with various parades such as Light the Way, Ford Holiday River Parade & Lighting Festival, and Ford Fiesta de las Luminarias. The city also has numerous traditions for observing when the holiday season takes place, including the Holiday Festival, La Tamalada and Saturday time travel, la Gran Tamalada and mariachi Vargas Extravaganza.

9. University Station

When Christmas comes, there are lots of events at the College Station. The month of December features many events such as Christmas in the park, the annual holiday concert and the lighted Christmas Parade in the city centre. The city is also home to Santa’s Wonderland, where visitors can enjoy a white Christmas thanks to snow machines, and classic Christmas movies on a large outdoor movie screen.

January November-the city of Grapevine celebrates Christmas with more than 1,400 events taking place over 40 days from mid-November to early January. Some of the most notable events include visiting large ice sculptures. Grapevine also has a special train ride for children, and the historic Palace Theatre has an outdoor movie screen to showcase popular Christmas films.
